The cast of The View talks about autographs.
I was once at a celebrity function and saw Whoopi Goldberg. I didn't ask for her autograph, because I didn't have anything for her to sign. And, I didn't see the point of getting her to sign a napkin.
Well, her and the cast of The View started talking about the paparazzi, and how they chased Harrison Ford down a New York Street. One of them then said that Joan Collins told them she was in a bathroom stall, and someone slid a paper under the door for her to sign. Whoopi said that happened to her. She then said, "I can understand part of the logic, because they are thinking they will never get this chance again. But, you will. As soon as I come out of there, you'll have the chance."
They soon went back to how there should be laws on the paparazzi, and how when celebrities are walking with children, they shouldn't even be allowed to photograph.
Whoopi said people often say "You knew what you were getting into," and she smiled and said "No I didn't. I never signed up for that. I never knew I'd have to talk to all these people and sign all these autographs."
It's one of the many things I hate about the paparazzi. It's made autograph collecting a lot harder, since the two get lumped in together.
